Apple unveiled the new iPad mini, the new entry-level iPad, and the newer iPhone 13 models in yesterday’s Apple California Streaming event. The iPhones and the entry-level iPad are updated every year, but that is not the case with iPad Mini. Apple took substantial time to update the iPad Mini, and that is why the new iPad Mini is the most exciting launch of yesterday’s event after the iPhone 13 models.
iPad Mini has been a massive hit for Apple because of its compact form-factor that does not comprise the capabilities. It is the era of large tablets, but there is still a selected number of buyers that prefer small-sized tablets because they easily slip inside a pocket.
The New iPad Mini 2021 Model
The new iPad Mini has a new fresh design language that we have seen on the iPad Air. The screen now goes edge-to-edge, and the iPad Mini has a round figure around the corners.
It now supports Apple Pencil, so that is excellent for creative professionals and school purposes.
The New Design
The first thing you will notice on the new iPad Mini is the new design. The bezels are thick now, and it has high screen-to-body ratio than before. Touch ID has been gone now, and it has been moved to the top-right corner of the iPad. It doubles up as a lock button as well.
The new iPad mini is larger than the predecessor, and it now features an 8.4-inch screen on the exact dimensions as before, thanks to its thin bezels that gave more room for screen.
The new iPad Mini has dual stereo speakers, and volume buttons are given on the top-left, opposite the Touch ID.
Same Dimensions, Larger Display, Apple Pencil Support
The new 8.4-inch display is a massive upgrade over the predecessor. It features true-tone, P3 wide-color with 500-nits peak brightness, and it still has an anti-reflection coating.
The Pro capabilities are not just limited to the iPad Pros only. Apple brought the support for Apple Pencil to the new iPad Mini, so now the whole iPad lineup supports Apple Pencil. The Apple Pencil sticks to the right of the new iPad Mini with a magnetic connector.
A New Chip To Destroy Android Counterparts
The new iPad Mini houses the newest A15 Bionic chip, and it is the only iPad to house the A15 under the hood. It is a powerhouse, and it is the most powerful compact tablet on the planet right now. Apple announced that the new A15 Bionic is 40% faster, with 2x faster Apple Neural Engine for faster machine learning.
The new iPad Mini is the ultimate power tool for performance and graphics demanding users. If you are a digital artist, architect, or pilot, this iPad Mini will fit so seamlessly for your requirements because it has 80% faster graphics.
5G Connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 & USB-C
The new iPad Mini is 5G certified, which means if you buy the cellular model, you can stay connected to high-speed Internet on the road. The Wi-Fi 6 ensures that you get the fastest speeds.
The addition of USB-C on the new iPad Mini is a ‘Pro Move’ by Apple. The USB-C further enhances its capabilities by letting you connect a wide range of USB-C accessories. The iPad Mini charges through the Type-C port, and it ships with a 20W charger in the box.
The New Cameras, Center Stage, True Tone Flash
The iPad Mini 2021 has new cameras, and it supports Center Stage.
Center Stage makes video calls more stable, and it keeps you centered in the frame, and it is all made possible by the new 12 MP ultra-wide front camera. The wide 12 MP camera sensor comes with Focus Pixels and a large aperture that captures sharp, colorful photos and records video up to 4K resolution.
Surprisingly, the new iPad also comes with a True-Tone flash for capturing snaps of documents in low-light.
iPadOS 15 Does Wonders
Apple introduced iPadOS 15 at the WWDC June 2021 event, and it is finally time to cakewalk on the new iPad OS with unmatched capabilities and features.
The new iPad Mini ships with the latest iPadOS 15 right out of the box. It has so many gestures, and the multi-tasking will be even more seamless with the new A15 Bionic.
